Fairy Magical Tri-Shutter Card

My all time favorite card to make is a tri-shutter card.  They are so easy and have a lot of “Wow!” factor.  Here is a “Fairy Magical” birthday card I made for one of my nieces:
And here is the card when it is open!
Of course I used The Best Glue Ever as my adhesive.  I am always amazed out how tiny and precise a dot I can make…
…and it holds tight to those rhinestones…
…which I placed using Embellie Gellie!  I just let the glue spot sit for a minute and get really tacky, and when I touch the rhinestone to it, it just grabs it!

Quick and Simple Cards

Here are some cards I made. I've come to the conclusion that as long as I keep it simple, my cards look just fine.

I started with some ready cards by Recollections, cut and inked the edges of a contrasting piece of nice cardstock, which I then adhered directly (Best Glue Ever). I layered two Rollagraph stamps in green and black inks on some nice white sketch paper I have, drying the ink with the Perfect Crafting Pouch. I cut strips to size, and inked the edges again with brown pigment ink. I raised these with strips of craft foam, which the Best Glue Ever adheres just fine

I colored flower and swirl shaped laser die cuts (Globecraft Memories) with Colorbox pigment inks. I put a flower over the text. I stamped the bird image from Just Rite cling stamps with black Colorbox dye ink, and set the swirl die cut like a branch.

I colored and stamped on an Eco Board as well. I used Perfect Crafting Pouch to instantly dry all this inking, tidied up with the Perfect Cleaning Cloth, and left the stamps sit for a while knowing they would come clean easily with the Best Cleaner Ever. Lastly I adhered the Eco Board and placed a single Dew Drop embellishment with the Embellie Gellie.

Then I cleaned my stamps.

Printing Digital Layouts

I have recently started doing  8"x8" digital scrapbooks. It's really fun, but I had problems with printing my layouts. It never came out crisp and pretty like in the photo shop.

I decided to try ScraPerfect Crafting pouch to remove the statics from the paper. Usually I use the pouch when I emboss or use glitter, but I thought I'd try it in this case and see if it helps.

What you know…it worked!! The printing came out really crisp and clear! Just rub it on your paper and you'll have great results!

Easter Card

Here’s a quick card for Easter.

The Best Glue Ever was used to create mini glue spots on release paper for the rhinestones, which I then placed with the help of Embellie Gellie.  I love how versatile the glue is because I can use it to perfectly adhere everything from cardstock to paper flowers to metal charms.

Mixed Media Journal

I found a hardcover book at the local library's book sale - pretty reasonable at $2.  I'd been looking for a book to recycle as a journal. But once you take the book jacket off, the covers are pretty plain. However, not for long...

I picked up an unfinished wooden frame at Michael's a while back. It was chipped on one side, but I figured I could cut the frame and just use part of it. To decorate the wood, I first treated it with the Perfect Crafting Pouch then stamped repeatedly with several background stamps and archival ink.

On the cover I took a black pen and wrote "art journal" over and over and decided to try out a new bottle of Mica Gloss. Then I adhered a piece of scrapbook paper with the Best Glue Ever, cut to fit the "inside" of the frame. Next I used the Best Glue Ever to adhere the wooden frame and added a few highlights with a bit of blue paint.

I'm really happy with my new non-boring cover!

Dimensional Cards

Here are some cards using vintage magazine paper - ads for a book catalog - and stamped images from Just Rite cling stamps.

I inked edges with pigment inks and highlighted some of the stamping with Smooch glossy accents. The words are from pack of "Destiny Cards" I've had for years and never used.

I placed Dew Drops with the Embellie Gellie, which I also used to help place the small cut outs and buttons. I created dimension with craft foam and Eco Boards.

Of course the glue throughout was Best Glue Ever, and I cleaned up my stamps with Best Cleaner Ever and a clean AccuWipe paper towel.

Stamped Favor Boxes

I am a collector of small stamps. I love the Studio G stamps from Hampton Arts! They are great for cards, but I am always looking for another way to use them. I found Silver Foil Truffle boxes ( made by Wilton) at the local craft store.

I pulled out my Perfect Crafting Pouch and gave the surface a swipe and stamped with Stazon ink.  What a quick, easy and inexpensive  way to personalize them!

Something for Prom night:

I can see this one for a 25th wedding anniversary – or even a sports banquet for #25!

And it always nice to know you can stamp in color for Valentine’s Day, a shower, or a wedding!

Baby Frame

Sometimes you create something that has more than paper and for that you need a really good adhesive. For this frame I used ScraPerfect amazing glue: The Best Glue Ever. I didn't need any other glue. It works with everything!

First I painted the frame with white acrylic color. Then I adhered the papers on it. I created the rainbow by threading the buttons into a metal wire. I attached the wire to the frame with the Beat Glue Ever and it holds perfectly. I've also adhered the other buttons with this great glue.

A Card for Japan

Hi, all. Today, I created a shaped card to remember Japan’s tragic TSUNAMI/Nuclear disaster about one year ago. I purchased a stamp set where a portion of the proceed would go to those victims.

To make the card base, I cut/embossed two die cuts from Spellbinders Picot Edge  Circles die #4 (smallest die is #1). Scored from the edge about ¾” of the back card base, adhere with The Best Glue Ever and match up the two die cuts to create the base.

For the card front, I cut/embossed with a smaller Picot Circles die #3 in black cardstock and a Standard Circles LG #5 in light gray cardstock. Layer and adhere both onto the card base as shown. Using the Embellie Gellie, place all 15 pearls around the circle.

The main image was heat embossed so I covered the cardstock and the copy paper with the Perfect Crafting Pouch to catch all the black embossing powder and to get a clean stamped image.  As you can see from the pictures, I was able to accomplish both!

After heating the powder to emboss, I stamped the red heart and the word “hope” to the image. Next fussy cut the image and adhere in the middle with foam tape for dimension.

Here is another look at the card…

Hug your loved ones a little tighter!
I am thankful everyday that my family and my husband’s family in Japan were and still are OK from that disaster J

Thank you for stopping by!

AMAZING: Josh Ritter and 12,000 sheets of paper!

This is simply unbelievable. The song is gorgeous and for those of us who work with paper, I think you will be blown away. They say no video tricks at all. Just paper cutting. This certainly justifies buying an electronic dies cut machine:) I am simply in awe.
