Best STAMP Cleaner Ever!

Does your workspace have something that looks like this??

Or this?

I did. A huge pile of dirty stamps left over from teaching a Halloween class in early October and Tim Holtz's Christmas tags in December. Lots and lots of rubber stamps coated with black archival ink and/or black Staz-on. The three Christmas stamps above had a thick layer of Staz-on on each one from stamping close to 20 times each on glossy paper.

I like clean stamps. So I was very excited to try out the Best Cleaner Ever. It's designed to remove solvent inks, like archival and Staz-on. I grabbed every dirty and slightly dirty stamp I had. Here's the pile I started with. Then I spent about a half-hour cleaning.

I grabbed an extra Perfect Cleaning Cloth went to work. And boy was I impressed! You can see the right-hand stamp already cleaned. I gave each stamp one quick spray with the cleaner then wiped with the Perfect Cleaning Cloth.

You can see how beautifully it cleans the stamps. And here's my final pile with the now black Perfect Cleaning Cloth. And since the Best Cleaner Ever is made with food grade ingredients, there's nothing that will harm or dry out my rubber stamps!

Cool Photo Editting Software -- Check it out!

I did the  mouse-hover to reveal the before and after and I was hooked. I love Photoshop Elements for my graphic stuff, but I don't understand it for photo enhancing and editing. This program sounds like the answer. PLUS I'm thrilled there's a MAC version, too. (Check it out at Scrapbook Dimensions Magazine and maybe you'll win a copy of your own... http://scrapbookdimensions.com/online/perfect-365-by-arc-soft-product-review

Canvas!

I adhered the paper to the canvas using The Best Glue Ever from ScraPerfect.  I absolutely love this adhesive because it does not wrinkle the paper, a problem I ran into while trying to use Mod Podge.  A little bit of burlap adds a lot of texture, don't you agree?  The Best Glue Ever is a great adhesive for all kinds of materials.  When I decided to add the burlap and the ribbon on the tag, I reached for it with confidence!

My favorite detail, though, is how I "fussy cut" the picture in the lower right so that my son's arms reach out of the frame.  It is such an easy thing to do but it adds dimension and visual interest.

Interactive Layouts

Cynthia has put together another beautiful layout - with a twist!

The picture and mat life up to reveal another set of photos.

You can get the same effect by adhering your photo block on a "Z" shaped scrap of paper with the Best Glue Ever. The "Z" shape acts like a spring and lets you lift up the photo. Clever!

You can use the revealed area for more photos or use it to conceal hidden journaling.

GORGEOUS Mini-book from Robyn!

In addition to the lovely cards Robyn made for our Designer Gallery at CHA, she had this stunning minibook. She used a Globecraft Memories globe on the cover. She also used the laser cut shapes (colored with Colorbox pigment inks), cut out Stampin' up stamped images (Colorbox Dye inks) which were then colored with the Colorbox pigment inks. She used the Dew Drops, of course placed with the Embellie Gellie. She raised 3D elements inside the Globe with the Eco Board.

Here's what Robyn said about constructing the album:

The papers on the album are the Robin's Nest collection. I aged everything with the Mixed Media and Colorbox pigment inks, always using my Perfect Crafting Pouch to dry it instantly - because I am way too impatient to wait. Same with the colored stamps! I embellished with some of the rub-ons from Robin's Nest also, as well as a few from my stash.  Additional elements: some images from Cosmo Cricket, and Making Memories, Recollections brads, sentiments printed on vellum prepped with the Perfect Crafting Pouch.

One of my favorite bits is the sentiment stamped right into Makin's Clay and, after it cured, colored with more pigment inks. I used the Perfect Crafting Pouch as the stamp release of course.

Something I loved was using the Best Cleaner Ever at the end of my work to clean up my lovely big cutting mat work surface from Westcott. I like that it came up clean as new.

The great thing about a paper bag mini album is that it is expandable. I have information and letters slipped into the pockets, and as I gather more family stories I can write them out and add more pieces.

AND of course I use ScraPerfect's Best Glue Ever to adhere everything because I know once glued, never moved.

Tools: Westcott trimmer and scissors, Embellie Gellie, Perfect Cleaning Cloth, Best Glue Ever, Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.

Cards by Robyn!

Robyn's not only one of our Designer Gallery designers, but she's also part of our ScraPerfect DT.  She created a set of cards - complete with matching envelopes!

Robyn used Clearsnap's Rollergraph stamp and ink to create the line of presents. Her sentiment from Justrite was stamped onto an Ecoart board by Rubberstamp Concepts. And before stamping, Robyn used the Perfect Crafting Pouch to ensure her images were crisp. She cut her stamped image out using a Wescott craft knife and titanium scissors and colored in the image using Colorbox inks.

For a final touch she added bling from the Robin's Nest. These Dew Drops are easy to adhere with the Best Glue Ever using our Embellie Gellie.

Valentine's Cards

I made a few homemade cards for my family for Valentine's Day.

I stamped on two of the cards, using the Perfect Crafting Pouch to treat my surfaces before stamping. It made stamping on a roughly gessoed heart a piece of cake!

For my ribbon and embellishments I used the Best Glue Ever. It's my favorite glue for ribbons and fibers - once it's dry and tacky it not only holds beautifully but is invisible. It will never bleed through your ribbon.

For each card I started with paper from GCD Studios. I layered ribbon by first running a thin line of the Best Glue Ever along the card. Once it was dry I applied the dark pink ribbon. I put a small dot of the Best Glue Ever in the center of each flower of the light pink ribbon, then attached when the glue was tacky. The paper flower was also attached with the Best Glue Ever.

And for stamping, the Perfect Crafting Pouch makes it easy to get great results. I used it on both of these cards. The white heart was coated in gesso, roughly, to give it texture before stamping. The blue ribbon flowers were also adhered using the Best Glue Ever.

All Girl Layout with DIY polymer clay accents

More from our Designer Gallery at CHA! Here's a pretty layout that Becky Conley made.

Becky used red Makin's Clay for accents - both squares and hearts. She stamped into the clay to create patterns and texture. The Perfect Crafting Pouch makes stamping into clay a piece of cake - without the clay sticking to your stamps.

Becky also used the Best Glue Ever to add some glittered accents and Robin's Nest Dew Drops to her page.

Featuring Candice Windham

Candice Windham made a fabulous box for our Designer Gallery. Inside the box were decorated tabs to hold quotes for different occasions. The pictures really do not do this project justice!

Candice used paper from the Robin's Nest. Her tabs were made with Justrite stamps and she used delicate chipboard shapes from Globecraft to decorate her box.

Cards, Decor and more from Lisa Kettell!

Lisa Kettell is a creative mixed-media artist. She creates all sorts of wonderful things from jewelry,  faeries and vintage embellishments, to designing her own paper. She has several blogs, has been published in quite a few magazines and books, as well as runs her own magazine, Piddlestix.

Check out what she made for our designer gallery! The heads of these pretty things were molded with clay. She used ScraPerfect's Perfect Crafting Pouch so the clay wouldn't stick to the molds. She used paper and embellishments from the Robin's Nest, stamps from Justrite, Globecraft globe and frame,  and of course, ScraPerfect's magical products. She LOVES the Best Glue Ever for permanent stick of papers and all the embellishments, and finds Embellie Gellie the BEST for picking up those tiny dew drops!

"Live" From CHA 2012

 We're back from CHA!

I'd hoped to send a few pictures during the show, but the wifi at my hotel really didn't like sending files. At all.  I thought I'd share a few photos of our booth and some of the projects created by our designers for the IMP Designer Gallery.

Here's our booth. See that huge basket? That's the grand prize for our "Complete the Puzzle" promotion with our IMP partners - Brooke International, Clearsnap, Globecraft Memories, JustRite, Makin's Clay, the Robin's Nest, and Westcott. Did you finish your puzzle?

Our partners were very generous with the designers. And our designers created some really amazing things with them. Here's a photo of some of the designer projects we had on display - more later!
